DENVER (STORYFUL) - Staff at Denver Zoo revealed on June 11 that a same-sex flamingo couple living at the zoo have been together for several years and could act as surrogate parents.

The birds, a Chilean flamingo named after NSYNC member Lance Bass and an American flamingo named after Freddie Mercury, have been “paired up for several years.”

Zoo officials said they could act as surrogate parents if a breeding pair was unable to raise their chick.
