AHSAA Board reinstates fines and penalties for schools that cannot field a team due to COVID-19. Last year the fines and penalties were suspended.
The Central Board also voted to reinstate all rules and regulations regarding contest forfeiture that were in place prior to the 2020-21 school year.
Last year, schools were not assessed fines or penalties if school superintendents determined teams could not play a contest due to COVID-19 concerns.
This could be an incentive for schools to have players get vaccinated.
Last season if a team was not able to compete in a contest they were not penalized, they could be this year.
