Urban Meyer to step down as OSU football coach after Rose Bowl

Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer will reportedly step down after the Rose Bowl, according to sources to Yahoo! Sports

Meyer, 54, coached Tim Tebow to a Heisman Trophy and Florida to two BCS titles before heading to Ohio State where he won a national title in 2014.

Meyer's health may have played a role in the decision. He had brain surgery in 2014 because of a cyst in his brain.

A news conference is set for 2 p.m.

Yahoo! Sports reports offensive coordinator Ryan Day will take over as head coach.

He served as interim head coach when Meyer served a 3-game suspension at the start of the year.
