Rodrick Sikes hit a 3-pointer with 18.5 seconds left to rally South Alabama from an eight-point deficit and defeat New Orleans 55-52 Sunday afternoon.
Sikes, who finished with a game-high 15 points, scored six of USA's final seven points. His triple with 2:02 left also gave the Jags the lead.
South Alabama had an 11-point lead at halftime but saw it evaporate when New Orleans started the second half on a 22-3 run. USA countered with a 9-0 spurt, with seven straight points coming from Dederick Lee.
UNO led 50-46 with 2:30 to play, but USA ended the game on a 9-2 run, all from Sikes and Josh Ajayi.
The Jags host Southern Miss on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m.
