WASHINGTON (SBG) — It seems like something out of a science fiction novel, drones that can detect COVID-19 symptoms.
Drones created by the company Dragonfly are being looked at to help authorities with enforcing social distancing guidelines.
From a distance of 60 meters or nearly 200 feet, the drones can detect several coronavirus symptoms, including fever, blood pressure, heart rate, and breathing rate.
In Connecticut, Westport Police Chief Foti Koskinas confirmed that the Police Department was testing the drone technology, according to Westport News. Although, due to privacy concerns, the town said they were not moving forward with the program.
