UPDATE: The fire was started by some type of issue with the truck itself and was not accident related. Additionally, the spokesman told NBC 15 there was no significant damage to the bridge and all lanes have been reopened.
A tractor trailer fire caused over a major mile back-up traffic on the General W.K. Wilson Bridge on I-65 north of Mobile and closed the northbound lanes on Sunday.
As of 4 p.m. the fire is contained and least one lane has re-opened to allow traffic through but traffic will be impacted for "some time" according to Alabama Highway Patrol. Many people who were stuck in traffic behind the trailer told NBC 15 that they waited for 2-3 hours.
No injuries have been reported and officials have not said what started the fire. We will have more details on our 10 p.m. newscast.
