Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle
On Thursday, May 18, 2017 at approximately 9:00 a.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of Hortons Drive in reference to a person with a gun. The victim stated that she and several of her friends were sitting in her vehicle. The victim stated that a known female suspect shot into the vehicle several times. The suspect left in a dark colored Sports Utility Vehicle. No one was injured.
Assault 2nd / Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling
On Thursday, May 18, 2017 at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers responded to the 2400 block of St. Stephens Road in reference to one shot. Officers arrived on the scene but the victim had been transported to the hospital. The victim stated that he and known suspect got into a verbal altercation. The suspect then brandished a handgun and shot once inside of the residence. The victim went outside and the suspect fired several more shots at the victim striking him in the chest. The suspect left the scene. The victim had a non-life threatening injury.
Robbery 1st/ Burglary 1st/ Theft of Property 1st
On Friday, May 19, 2017 at approximately 12:50 a.m., offices responded to the Creekside Apartments located at 6655 Ziegler Boulevard in reference to a robbery to an individual. The victim stated that he and his girlfriend were in the laundry room when two unknown male suspects approached them armed with handguns and forced them to their apartment. The suspects then demanded that the victims put items into a back pack and grabbed the victim’s keys. The suspects then forced the victims back outside to the females vehicle where they demanded property out of the vehicle. The suspects then forced the victims back into the apartment and took the vehicle keys and left the residence. A third suspect got into the victims vehicle with the other two suspects and drove off. Officers later located the victim’s vehicle in the area of Welworth Street and Clinton Avenue. Officers attempted to pull the vehicle over but the driver refused to stop. Three male suspects exited the vehicle and ran. Officers were unable to apprehend anyone. The victim’s vehicle was returned.
Domestic Violence 3rd (Reckless endangerment)/ Receiving Stolen Property 3rd/ Pistol- Certain Persons Forbidden/ Possession of a Controlled Substance/ Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd
On Friday, May 19, 2017 at approximately 1:37 a.m., officers responded to the RV Taylor Housing located at 1566 Sumner Drive in reference to a domestic complaint. Upon officers arrival they spoke with witnesses who stated that the victim was being held against her well by Demetrius Carey, 36, at gun point. Officers attempted to reach the victim by cell phone but were unsuccessful. Officers were able to make entry through an unlock door. The victim and Carey were given commands by the officers to come out. Carey came out and was taken into custody. Upon further investigation officers located a handgun and a controlled substance. The victim was not harmed. Carey was arrested and transported to Mobile County Metro Jail.
On Friday, May 19, 2017 at approximately 3:35 a.m., officers responded to the 1100 block of Bordeaux Street in reference to a robbery to an individual. The victim stated he was in the area of Linwood drive and Eagle drive when two unknown male suspects armed with handguns approached him out of nowhere and demanded that he give it up. The suspects then forced the victim to the ground and took his cellular phones and wallet. The suspects then left the area.
