It's been three months since Hurricane Michael slammed into the Florida Panhandle as a category four hurricane.

It still looks like a bomb went off there essentially wiped off the map.

What's left behind now just concrete slabs from leveled homes and piles of rubble.

The small beach town is usually bustling with tourists, but now cleanup crews and construction workers have taken over .

So far $8 million has been spent just for debris removal and there's still much demand for infrastructure repairs.

Assistance, however, is hard to secure during the government shutdown.

Cathey estimates it'll take 2 years to fully recover.

A new construction moratorium is now in effect that should be lifted February 8th.
