It's a step toward closure for the family of a 4-year-old boy killed in a motorcycle accident last year in Mobile.

Roland Guy was arrested Thursday for manslaughter.

He's charged with killing Soterio Osborne.

Teddy bears, flowers and crosses still mark the very spot where 4-year-old Soterio Osborne lost his life on May 25, 2016.

Neighbors said the 4-year-old and his older brother were playing near their home on Alba Club Road when he was hit and killed by a motorcycle.

"I heard the bikes coming down the street, then seen the child airborne, then the bike flying to the side," said Bart Smith, who fears he won't ever be able to shake last year's horrific images from his mind.

"I actually thought it was a neighbor's animal that got hit until I walked on the street and seen the baby and everything changed. I looked and the baby was motionless, the rider on the bike had crawled to the curb, sitting there motionless. There was shock everywhere," said Smith.

A year later, police arrested the driver of that motorcycle: 36-year-old Roland Guy.

A Mobile County Grand Jury indicted Guy for manslaughter.

"That needed to happen. They was flying. This street is probably 300- 400 yards long. Not a drag strip," Smith said, who also pointed out that there were two motorcycles traveling on Alba Club that day.

Soterio's family has since moved from the neighborhood.

But last year the 4-year-old's mother Jessica Weaver shared with us the heartache she endured.

"He killed my baby he should go to jail. I really just can't believe he’s gone. I'm living in a nightmare," said Weaver.

Guy was booked into Metro jail around 3 p.m.
