UberTechs LLC, a business co-founded by childhood friends Willie Malone and Kevin Jefferson, recently entered the FedEx Small Business Grant Contest. Vying to win up to $25,000 in prizes, the duo needs your help to advance to the second heap of the competition.
UberTechs LLC was initially conceptualized by Malone in 2012 while a student at Tuskegee University. Malone is set to graduate from Tuskegee University summer 2017. UberTechs came to fruition in 2016 when Malone joined forces with Jefferson, a student at Troy University and a member of the Army National Guard. The two revitalized the company to connect consumers with devices in need of repairs to technicians who specialize in mobile device repair.
They previously entered Mobile’s First Google-sponsored Start-Up Weekend Competition where they received an honorable mention. This success fueled their desire to legitimize their raw concept into what it has become today. Since the competition, Malone and Jefferson have been tirelessly networking, connecting with lawyers, accountants, and business advisors to establish UberTechs’ structural footprint and finalize development of the UberTechs mobile app.
The duo also took part in the Innovation PortAL Incubator, graduating from its eight-week intensive start-up business-building program. Malone was recently selected for the 1702 strategic mentor/mentee development program for founders and CEO’s funded by the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce.
Malone and Jefferson believe it takes a village to raise a business. They entered the FedEx Small Business Grant Contest in an effort to secure funds to patent their technology and create a full-scale marketing plan to aid in launching their app and building their brand. Though they continue to rally their forces daily via social media and have garnered over 3,000 votes, they still need your support. You can help UberTechs LLC implement their tagline to provide “Mobile Device Repair Solutions Made Simple” by voting for them every 24 hours on the FedEx website through April 5th. Just type bit.ly/voteforubertechs into any browser or click here and cast your vote daily for this local business.
Look for the UberTechs mobile app in the Google Play and in the iTunes Store this summer.
