On March 9, 2018 at 8:20 p.m., officers with the Fort Walton Beach Police Department received notification from the Minneapolis, Minnesota Police Department that a wanted homicide suspect was on a Greyhound bus bound for Fort Walton Beach with a final destination of Panama City, Florida. The suspect was identified as Antwan Darnell Cosey, black male, 38 years of age, and was expected to be arriving at 9:00 or 9:30 p.m. Information also indicated that Mr. Cosey may be still armed with a handgun.

Officers set up a surveillance on the bus depot awaiting the arrival of the bus from Minnesota. Upon arrival of the bus, officers observed two subjects exiting the bus, neither of them matching the description of the suspect. As the bus prepared to depart, officers converged, blocking the bus from leaving the depot. A police reaction team quickly entered the bus, identified Mr. Cosey, and took him into custody without incident. At the time of this report, no weapon was located. Mr. Cosey was transferred to the custody of the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.
