Tis the season for package thieves.
With online shopping more popular than ever, deliveries are increasing as we get closer to Christmas. And that means porch pirates are popping up, taking what isn't theirs.
A shifty character was spotted on Woodside Drive North in Theodore Tuesday afternoon.
It was a real life Grinch. According to the homeowner, the man stole her 2-year-old daughter's Christmas gift off her front porch after driving his SUV straight through her yard, stopping right in front of her door.
Neighbors were stunned.
"It's just amazing that anything like this is going on and it's Christmas time. Go get a job!" said one neighbor.
"It's just disgusting. I don't know what to say about people these days. There's so many charities out there that could help people that need it they don't have to steal it," said another neighbor.
The victim didn't wish to be interviewed on camera, but told NBC 15 that the man seen in her surveillance video, swiped the package just 2 hours after it was delivered.
Inside was a luvabella doll, a gift worth about $100.
The suspect in the video is wearing a Kansas City Royals hat, a blue shirt and driving a dark-colored SUV with what appears to be a dealership tag on the back.
Police are still looking for that man.
Meanwhile some tips for folks at home:
