5K run in midtown Mobile will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project

March 18, 2017 marks the fourth year "Let's Get It" 5K run to to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project has been held.

The 5K run, in memory of former United States Marine Justin Hasty, has raised over $43,000 in the past three years according to Hasty's mother, Sandra Hasty.

Justin Hasty was killed in October 2012. Hasty's mother said that Hasty was a "avid runner," and that the "Let's Get It" 5K was started to "honor his memory and also help some very deserving service men and women."

According to the Wounded Warrior Project website, the foundation "serves veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound, co-incident to their military service on or after September 11, 2001 and their families."

As of March 2017 a total of 22,701 family members are part of the Wounded Warrior Project. For more information on the Wounded Warrior Project visit their website here.
